Reference Sources and Measurement Worksheet
Primary technical documents, further reading and a project measurement record.
Book framework and further reading
Handbook of Visual Display Technology, edited by Janglin Chen, Wayne Cranton and Mark Fihn, second edition, Springer, 2016, provides the broad subject framework. The publisher overview informed the subject structure. The complete book has not been reviewed for these articles; individual calculations are supported by the primary documents cited beside them. Chapter access is available through the publisher and participating libraries.
Measurement methods
IDMS v1.3 (2025) is published by SID/ICDM. Use the complete document for a formal measurement procedure. The library references its public topic index; full IDMS procedures have not been verified here. The index helps locate the appropriate section; project acceptance limits are specified separately.

Colour, signal and equipment documentation
Match model, hardware revision, firmware and operating mode before applying equipment-specific instructions. The supplied bill of materials identifies the equipment selected for each project.

Reading paths
- Choose a display: architecture → luminance → pixel pitch → ambient contrast → scene qualification.
- Integrate a system: signal path → camera timing → power → thermal/service design → operational acceptance.
- Verify an installation: measurement plan → luminance → colour → uniformity → factory/site test record.
